Located in Latzimas, Rethymno, close to the main Crete highway, the experience combines nature, knowledge, Cretan snail gastronomy, direct contact with live snails and award-winning PANACEA3 natural skincare in an authentic farm environment with sea view.
The Escargot de Crete Experience lasts approximately 2 hours.
Guests discover a rare side of Crete: ecological snail farming, the life and value of the snail, traditional Cretan snail tasting, fresh snail secretion directly from the snail on the skin, and natural skincare developed through the work of Escargot de Crete and PANACEA3.
Guests visit the ecological snail farm and see how the snails live and grow in a natural environment.
They are introduced to:
• ecological snail cultivation
• the behaviour and life cycle of snails
• the role of biodiversity in the farm
• the relationship between the snail, the land and the natural environment
• the cultivation philosophy of Escargot de Crete
One of the most distinctive moments of the visit is the direct experience of fresh snail secretion.
Guests have the opportunity to feel fresh secretion directly from the snail on their skin and understand, through a simple and memorable experience, why snail secretion became the foundation of PANACEA3 natural skincare.
This is not a conventional product demonstration. It is a direct connection between the living snail, nature and the skin.
Guests taste traditional Chochlioi Boubouristoi, one of the most distinctive snail dishes of Cretan cuisine, together with selected snail delicacies developed by Escargot de Crete.
The tasting presents the snail not only as a traditional Cretan ingredient, but also as a valuable food connected with local culture, sustainability and the long culinary memory of Crete.
